Every September, as students across Chatham County anticipate the start of a new school year, not all can afford the basic necessities for their academic journey. Understanding this gap, the BOLD Foundation, a Chatham County Nonprofit, annually steps up to ensure that every child is prepared and excited for their first day of school.
This year, the BOLD Foundation assembled and donated school supply kits to more than 120 students in grades K-5. These kits, filled with notebooks, pencils, tissues, and highlighters, ensure that the students have everything they need to succeed. Beyond individual kits, the foundation also provided bulk supplies to schools, supporting educational environments as a whole.
The packing and distribution of these supplies were led by employees from the BOLD family of companies, who volunteered their time to ensure that each kit was ready for the students. Kristine Holm, Broker-in-Charge at BOLD Real Estate and a board member for the BOLD Foundation, reflected on the initiative: "It's heartwarming to know that these supplies will help enhance the students’ confidence and success in their academic endeavors. We are proud to be a part of a community that actively supports its students' education."
School staff facilitated the distribution of these kits, which were received with much gratitude. Principal Giles expressed her appreciation: “We are so fortunate to have such a supportive school community! The school supply kits provided by the BOLD Foundation each August ensure that every student starts the year with all the supplies on our student supply list. Starting the year prepared helps set our students up for success. Additionally, this support helps us build a welcoming school environment where our students and families feel connected and cared for. We value our continued partnership with the BOLD Foundation.”

For this initiative, the BOLD Foundation collaborates closely with local schools to distribute winter clothing and thoughtful gifts to children whose families are facing financial difficulties. The office becomes a hive of activity during this period, with gifts being sorted, tagged, and bagged for families to pick up at the distribution location.
