The BOLD Foundation had the privilege of attending the annual district-wide convocation to kick off the new school year and honor the incredible teachers who go above and beyond for their students. The event, which brought together educators from across Chatham County, was an exciting, colorful celebration with a theme that couldn’t have been more fitting: SHINE.
Teachers and staff lit up the room, literally and figuratively, decked out in bright colors, glow sticks, and light-up accessories. The energy was contagious, setting the perfect tone for the school year ahead. One of the standout moments was the recognition of the Principal of the Year, Lemondre Watson from Pittsboro Elementary School. His sparkly jacket matched the high energy and spirit he brought to the event, making it clear why he earned this distinguished honor.
At the heart of the convocation were the Teachers of the Year, each of whom was recognized with a certificate and a check from the BOLD Foundation. This gesture was our way of showing gratitude for the dedication and commitment these teachers show to their students and schools every day.
We were honored to participate in this inspiring event and to support the educators who work tirelessly to shape the future of our youth.
